Some pics+ thoughts

Hi!

I finally got around to take some pictures of my back yard.

I will try and make the pond edging even more "natural" than it is now, but apart from that I seem to lack in ideas. If you look behind the pond you can see some white rhododendhron plants as well as a red acer palmarum. There are also some ferns and hostas, but they aren't visible.

I really want to develop that area back there under the three big pines, but I'm not really sure what to do with it. This is a shaded area... I would really like to add some more benches for resting, perhaps a small misaki lantern, as well as more plants.

It would be nice to add a bamboo fence of some kind too... Somewhere...

well, happy gardening!!

Any ideas, shetches critics and other comments are more than welcome!!

Hi!

Thanks for the comments! Do you have anything in particular that would enhance it further? Usually I get some inspiration or ideas, when I watch tv or read books (the latest was the one by Marc Keene), but now I'm all out... Herb usually make good inspiring drawings, I could sure need some here ;)

Like I said, there is much open space, but since my wallet is not always full, I need to develop the site one step at a time... And I'm adding new shrubs at the pond as soon as I find them (the latest was a lovely pinus mugo). Any thoughts or comments are always welcome!!

Perhaps increase the size of the pond? Lol, and add a nice bridge? I'm brainstorming, but the idea has crossed my mind :P

kind regards
Henrik

How about making raised sitting area made by wood almost look like a deck under these trees? you can plan smaller trees like maples, camilias can go good in the shade of pines around deck. you can bring like bamboo benches on deck to make it cozier and more japanesie.
You can create a path from house to deck with LARGE flatstones and path covers with small round river pebbles. Make path not straight but turns like river flowing passing by your pond. That makes connection between them very nicely.
its nice to have such a huge backyard :) of course they are costly too.
but I envy you when one has tiny yard hehe.
