Yellow Squash

I learned several good tips how to grow yellow squash on TV the TN garden show.

1 Plant squash seeds every month all summer. Plants don't live long this will give you a supply of squash all summer.

2 Pick squash before they grow large enough to have seeds inside. If 1 squash makes seeds that signals the plant it has don't its duty so plants slowly die.

3 Place some boards on the soil next to the squash. Squash bugs will hide under the boards at night. Early morning turn boards over to kill the squash bugs.

I stopped growing yellow squash because squash bugs are a problem for the whole garden.

Has anyone tried these 3 tips?

In the past, if bugs don't kill my squash first something else will.

1 more thing TN garden show said, TN is a never ending battle to keep organic material in the soil our how summer burns up the organic material. I know organic material is gone very quick but never new heat did it.
