does any one have any experience inoculating bed or litter piles with edible mushrooms?
I ve been reading some stuff by Paul Stamets and am finding it intriguing.
would it be worth buying a kit!?
or should I just make conditions condusive to fungi growth.
I'm not nessecarily wanting edible just mushrooms!

Just introducing wood chips or straw / hay will usually encourage fungi. Many spoiled hay bales I pick up here and there are full of mycelium.I'm not necessarily wanting edible just mushrooms

My neighbor and I shared some shiitake plugs, which we put into some freshly cut oak logs. we covered the plugs with wax. We did this two falls ago, and had some shiitake mushrooms appear this past spring. We noticed the mushrooms grew on the log that was constantly in some water. However, due to home projects, I never took time to examine or consume them. Perhaps I will have more time next year. Good luck.
