Pruned mophead Hydrangea... now what?

I bought a beautiful blue hydrangea 2 months ago and repotted it (I don't have a garden). It did extremely well after repotting, but within the last few weeks 2 of the 3 blooms started wilting, so I pruned them. One bloom is still doing beautifully. However, the 2 blooms I pruned now have dark brown stalks. The remaining bloom's stalk is still green. Is this supposed to happen? I've never owned a hydrangea before and I don't seem to do well with blooming plants in general.

Also, at what point should I prune the 3rd bloom? It's still quite full and blue, but from what I've read I shouldn't get too deep into the summer without pruning?

Thanks!

Hi Jenfavre,

I hope your hydrangea is doing better by now. I suspect you have purchased a florist hydrangea.

Unfortunately I threw my hydrangea away several months ago as I presumed it to be dead. It was purchased as a foil-wrapped hydrangea. It is good to know for the future that these plants are not meant to survive long-term.

You are very welcome. Glad at least now you don't feel guilty. :?
